Daily and weekly section fronts -- Favorites, 2013

Lately, I have been working for the copy desk section doing the weekly feature sections, Food (a 4-page section published on Wednesdays) and Brazos Life (a 7-page section published in the Sunday editions of the paper). I also do the Region front on rotation. Click on the images for a closer look.

Here are some of my favorite designs:

Gameday graphics, 2012

Also in 2012, I had the opportunity to design a few graphics published on the covers of The Eagle's weekly Gameday section, published during football season. Below are the graphics and how they looked published. Click on the images for a closer look.

This graphic was made for a bye week for the Aggies before they had three road games in a row, two in Alabama and one in Mississippi. The sign was purchased from Stockphoto and originally green. The background was free from stock.xchng. The graphic was published Oct. 17, 2012.

I designed the graphic below when the Aggies were awaiting the announcement as to which bowl game they would play in. The photo of the bowling ball and pins was purchased from Stockphoto, the logos from online media kits. Then I combined a little creative cutout placement and shadowing. The graphic was published Nov. 17, 2012.

Special publications in 2012

It's been a crazy year (OK almost two), but I am working full time at The Eagle now. Here are some of the projects I did in 2012.
Honoring Heroes, Veterans tab for 2012 I did all the design, cover and inside pages, copy edited and wrote headlines.
and Aggie Playbook for the SEC, 2012 For the Aggies inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference, The Eagle put out a magazine (on glossy paper!). I designed all pages except for the game board in the back.

And Johnny Manziel: Road to the Heisman. After a whirlwind of a season, not only did the Aggies hold their own during their first season in the SEC, but the youngest player to ever win the Heisman brought it back to Aggieland. On this commemorative issue, I designed the cover and a majority of the inside pages.
